Del Toro a corrigé le journaliste sur Twitter : non seulement le projet s'appelle Silver (et pas Silva), mais en plus c'est un projet parmi tant d'autres. Il précise que son prochain film est en langue anglaise et qu'il sera shooté l'année prochaine.

Vu que l'avenir de Pacific Rim 2 est toujours incertain, Del Toro pourrait réaliser un remake du Voyage Fantastique de Richard Fleischer.

D'après son interview dans le Première de février, on apprends que Del Toro travaille, dans le style du fameux Hitchcock/Truffaut, à un gros livre d'entretiens entre lui, George Miller et Michael Mann.

Suite au succès de Shape of Water, Del Toro signe chez Fox Searchlight.

FSL presidents Stephen Gilula and Nancy Utley, who bought that project from del Toro on a pitch, will host live action films that del Toro will write, produce and sometimes direct. A new film label is also part of the deal, where del Toro can percolate horror, sci-fi and fantasy genre projects. All the films will be financed, marketed and distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures.
