Synopsis:Dans un futur proche, le gène de la vieillesse a été supprimé et le temps est devenu une valeur marchande : les riches vivent donc éternellement, pendant que les autres doivent négocier leur immortalité.

The Wrap nous apprend que l’actrice Olivia Wilde a été choisie pour incarner la mère de Justin Timberlake dans le nouveau thriller de science-fiction d’Andrew Niccol.

Le film, qui n’a pas encore de titre, se déroulera dans une société future où les riches sont immortels et où les pauvres doivent se battre pour survivre.

Timberlake sera un rebelle issu du ghetto qui sera faussement accusé du meurtre d’un homme riche. Il prendra la fuite avec un otage (Amanda Seyfried).

Cillian Murphy, Collins Pennie et Vincent Kartheiser complètent la distribution

The Cross est tombé à l'eau mais Niccol ne lâche pas la SF cette fois plus contemporaine qui d'après les photos sera un thriller course poursuite.

Je l'attend de pied ferme celui-là. Gattaca c'est direct dans le top 10 et y'a rien à jeter dans sa filmo, bien au contraire.

Effectivement mais si ils les fait courir pendant tout les film ça devrait aller Avec Niccol on est assuré d'avoir une réal intéressante et puis c'est le dernier à avoir bien dirigé Nicolas Cage donc on peut avoir un d'espoir sur le duo.

Et le pitch me plait bien.

Vaughn a très bien diriger Cage dans Kick Ass.

Ouai enfin il est dans le film 10 minutes, c'est un autre challenge de diriger Air "j'enchaine les daube pour payer mes dettes" Cage sur 2h de film

Bein en y pensant vraiment y a peu de monde qui a réussit à vraiment le diriger parce ça tendance au cabotinage bas du front revient très vite au galop.

Interview de Roger Deakins

On apprend que Deakins a shooté pour la première fois avec une caméra numérique pour Now, le film se déroulerait en majorité la nuit (d'où l'idée de tourné en numérique)

Deakins a tellement été convaincu par la flexibilité de la techno et la qualité de l'imagerie qu'il dit qu'il ne shootera plus qu'en numérique. Il annonce aussi que d'ici 1 an la majorité des films seront shooté en numérique.

La caméra qu'il utilise est une Arri Alexa la même qu'utilise Robert Richardson le directeur photo de Scorsese pour son The Invention of Hugo Cabret ou encore Nicolas Winding Refn pour Drive

En gros il dit que cette caméra aurait un meilleur rendu que la Red (dont la technologie est très proche) utilisé par Peter Jackson, Soderberg & co voir la vidéo.

"The technology and how it’s changing and the possibilities that are coming. This film Now, I’m shooting on a digital camera. First film I’ve shot digitally, because, frankly, it’s the first camera I’ve worked with that I’ve felt gives me something I can’t get on film. Whether I’ll shoot on film again, I don’t know. [Shooting on Digital] gives me a lot more options. It’s got more latitude, it’s got better color rendition. It’s faster. I can immediately see what I’m recording. I can time that image on set with a color-calibrated monitor. That coloring goes through the whole system, so it’s tied with the meta-data of the image. So that goes through the whole post-production chain, so it’s not a case of being in a lab and having to sit and then time a shot on a shot-by-shot because this has already got a control on it that’s set the timing for the shot, you know?

Am I nostalgic for film? … I mean, it’s had a good run, hasn’t it? You know, I’m not nostalgic for a technology. I’m nostalgic for the kind of films that used to be made that aren’t being made now.

The grain is unique, but on this film Now that I’m doing, I’m probably going to add grain for certain sequences where I feel that they would benefit having grain, just the look and the texture of it. Yeah, there are certain things about film emulsion that I love, and for certain projects, absolutely. I would certainly consider shooting film again, but you can add grain to a digital image. And, frankly, it’s not the technology that makes the great movies. I mean, if you went back to see Citizen Kane and you looked at it on a big screen and you looked at the quality of the image, I mean, frankly, some of it is not very…well, good’s not the right word, because technically it’s not as sharp. Some of it is very grainy. The lens quality is not as good as modern lenses. But…[Laughs] it’s still a better film than ninety-nine percent of what are made today. So, you know, it’s not just about technique and equipment."

J'avais adoré Gattaca et beaucoup aimé Lord of War...

Simone c'est sympa, le script est intéressant, Al Pacino est très bon, mais c'est pas très marquant quoi. Un bon petit film sans plus.
